Awards for Arctic Bath in Sweden's north

Arctic Bath, the floating hotel and spa in Swedish Lapland, has been recognized by Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026 and awarded the Engagement for Sustainability & Innovation Award.

  • The hotel is also ranked as one of Sweden's highest rated hotels in the first edition of Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026. With 98 out of 100 points, Arctic Bath is among the country's highest rated hotel experiences. Number one in Sweden this year is Grand Hôtel Stockholm with 100 out of 100 points. From the jury motivation: "Floating on the Lule River, Arctic Bath is one of the most innovative hospitality concepts in Scandinavia, combining architecture, nature and sustainability in a truly unique way. Designed to operate with minimal environmental impact, the hotel offers guests an immersive Arctic experience centered around wellbeing and a deep connection to nature. Its striking circular structure, inspired by traditional floating timber, and its ability to adapt across seasons reflect a forward-thinking approach to both design and operations. Through its focus on simplicity, energy efficiency and place-based experiences, Arctic Bath stands as a powerful example of how innovation can create meaningful and responsible travel in the far north.”
In recent years, Arctic Bath has gradually gained international attention for its way of working with hotel experiences where architecture, well-being, gastronomy, sauna traditions and cold baths interact with the surrounding nature. The hotel, which floats on the Lule River in Swedish Lapland, was created as a place where guests can experience the contrast between heat and cold, stillness and movement, architecture and raw nature.
“This award comes largely thanks to our team and the care they put into every part of the guest experience. Their commitment, continuity and genuine desire to always give their best to each and every guest is what shapes Arctic Bath every day,” says Klara Ranggård, CEO and Hotel Manager at Arctic Bath.
