Kicking off fall in the Chicago area

The date has been set for Scandinavian Day Festival in Illinois: Sunday September 11, 2022 

  • Record attendance at Scandinavian Day in South Elgin, packed with events, activities, vendors, and warm and cheerful Scandinavians.
  • Come enjoy the 42nd Scandinavian Day Festival at Vasa Park, Route 31, South Elgin, Illinois on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome! The cost is only $10 per person. Children 12 and under are free!

  • Music and flags flying in the breeze, music and folk dancing on several stages and an abundance of Scandinavian treats ... Scandinavian Day combines all the elements of a perfect late summer festival for the many Scandinavians and Scandinavian-Americans who gather here for the day.

  • Many years have passed and the festival has evolved but it remains loyal to its roots — the heritage of the five Nordic countries. The Scandinavian Park, Inc. NFP Board achieved its mission to bring the Scandinavian community together last year when 1,400 people visited the Festival, and with your support, we look forward to a memorable 42nd Festival on September 11th, 2022.

  • The Scandinavian Day Festival planning team has a great entertainment line-up including the ever-popular ABBA Salute and we invite you to support our vendors who prepare those delicious Scandinavian foods and an assortment of Scandinavian goods for you. Organizers are excited to bring to our 5 Nordic communities, and the Midwest, a vibrant and fun-filled Festival for 2022.

  • Please note that pets are NOT allowed at the Scandinavian Park due to safety reasons. However trained service dogs are always welcome. Please NO outside food, drinks or coolers in order to support our food vendors. We thank you for your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.
