  • The Swedish Royal Court publishes summer greetings from baby Princess Estelle, who is relaxing with her parents, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, and her grandparents King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at their summer residence Solliden on the island of Öland.
In the photos published, Princess Estelle wears a white summer dress. Nordstjernan earlier reported that Crown Princess Victoria will cheer on the Swedish athletes in London during the Summer Olympics. But the Princess canceled her trip, and will instead remain at home with her baby Estelle. Says Bertil Ternert, Director of the Information and Press Department at the Royal Swedish Court:

  • “She has made this decision, it has nothing to do with ill health. It’s just that baby Estelle is a priority for her.” Ternert didn’t want to say where Victoria and Estelle were going to be, but added that Prince Daniel is on his way over to London, today Monday, along with Prince Carl Philip, Victoria’s brother. “They will first and foremost follow the Swedish athletes,” he said. Carl Philip and Daniel are expected to stay in London a week. On being asked if the two of them get along when Victoria is not around, Ternert quipped: “Always.”
