The Vikings sail into New York

The Draken Viking ship is sailing through New York state, making various stops along the way, with the goal of a celebratory visit in NYC - and you could win a chance to sail, too. 

  • The Vikings sailed into New York on September 17.
  • The World’s largest Viking ship, the Dragon Harald Hårfagre, has arrived in New York. The five month voyage has taken the ship, along with 34 international crew members to Iceland, Greenland, the Great Lakes and now to New York.
    The Draken arrived September 17 to a grand welcoming ceremony with speeches, interviews and Nordic entertainment. The ship will sail pass the Statue of Liberty around 11 a.m. and arrive at North Cove Marina for the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. She will be there through Sept. 26.
