  Still the best: chef Rene Redzepi's restaurant NOMA in Copenhagen.

• For the second year in a row, restaurant Noma in Copenhagen became the top-rated restaurant when the San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced in London.

• Being number one on this particular list is one of the most prestigious awards a restaurant can receive, and Noma has now received it twice. The jury consists of 837 chefs, critics and food writers from all over the world, and all rank their seven favorite restaurants. The only demand is that they have to have visited the restaurants in question at some point during the 18 previous months.

• It is the British Restaurant Magazine that’s behind the arrangement. Noma is short for Nordisk Mat (Nordic Food) and is headed by chef Rene Redzepi, who has previously worked at the legendary Spanish restaurant El Bulli, which was number one on the list for four years straight. El Bulli wasn’t participating this year, since it is temporarily closed.
