"Case Study: Identifying the Parents of Kierstin Pehrsdotter (1655-1725)" is presented by Jill Morelli, a certified genealogist and certified genealogical lecturer.
She will demonstrate how she tackled a challenging Swedish genealogy problem.
With no direct evidence of Kierstin's parents in the records, Morelli pieced together clues to reach a well supported conclusion. Her research showcases four key methodologies: hypothesis building, same-named men studies, cluster research, and the use of syllogisms. This study also exemplifies the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS). Morelli's presentation was part of her successful renewal for the Certified Genealogist credential.
