Join Minneapolis-based artist Amy Sands ONLINE - her work spans the divide between traditional and digital printmaking, for this Nordic Handcraft program. Through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, Amy has used ASI’s bobbin lace collection as inspiration for her latest body of work, on display at ASI through July 11 in her Lace Reimagined exhibit.

In this virtual class program, Amy will demonstrate some of the printing processes she uses, including how printed paper cuts, laser-engraved acrylics and public art manifest themselves in her work. Amy will also discuss what it was like to work with the ASI textile collections and why she finds craft and women’s work to be such rich themes to explore in her art.
