Join us for Casablanca (1942), the third film in the "Nordics in Hollywood" series. Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman stars alongside Humphrey Bogart in this cinematic masterpiece. Enjoy this timeless classic under the stars at the National Nordic Museum. The film will be screened behind the Museum, in our parking lot. Please bring family and friends, as well as folding chairs or something soft to serve as your seats. A food truck will be onsite for snacking during the film.
Screening will begin at sunset, approximately 7pm. Come early, seating will open around 6pm, and enjoy our movie trivia game. If raining, this movie will be held in Osberg Great Hall.
About the film: Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), who owns a nightclub in Casablanca, discovers his old flame Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) is in town with her husband, Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid). Laszlo is a famed rebel, and with Germans on his tail, Ilsa knows Rick can help them get out of the country. Casablanca is rated PG.
About the series: Launching in 2022, "Nordics in Hollywood" celebrates the contributions of Nordic and Nordic American actors and directors to American cinema. Films that represent different genres and periods are selected and presented free of charge. Please reserve your space in advance.
