Bishop Hill and the Vasa National Archives
Presentation by Kathy Cuff
Kathy Cuff works for the Vasa Order of America National Archive and Museum (VNA) in Bishop Hill, IL. She has filled the position of Manager-Archivist for the past 6 years. Prior to that, she worked as archivist for the oldest college in Tennessee, Tusculum University, in Greeneville, TN.
Kathy will be presenting on the history of the Vasa Order and the genealogical collections at the VNA. The genealogical collections include lodge and district minutes, interviews, photographs and member’s genealogical information. Additional collections include Swedish-American church records, Lennart Setterdahl’s interviews with Swedish-Americans, Swedish-American periodicals, other Swedish-American fraternities, and a 3,000 volume library of Swedish-American books.
Cost is free for Swedish American Museum Genealogical Society members; $10 for non-members to participate. Member reservations appreciated and can be made via email to genealogy@samac.org or by calling the Museum at 773.728.8111 and non-members can use the button below.
