Join us for a screening of How to Train Your Dragon 2!
University of Washington’s Colin Connors joins us from the Department of Scandinavian Studies for a pre-show "lightning lecture," where he'll guide you through the world of Vikings and dragons behind the blockbuster movie.
Pop's Popcorn will be onsite selling popcorn and sweets, plus themed drinks will be sold in the Museum!
If the film’s soundtrack leaves you wanting more from its composer Jónsi (frontman of Icelandic band Sigur Rós) be sure to check out the Osher Gallery during your next visit to the Museum to experience Jónsi's special exhibit(Opens in a new window), created specifically for the National Nordic Museum.
About the Movie:
Dragons and Vikings have finally made peace, but when the villainous Drago plots a massive invasion, it's up to Hiccup and Toothless to save the day. Meanwhile, Hiccup meets a dragon who shows him the world from a different point of view.
About the Series:
Welcome to Fact & Fiction, a new series where we ask, "how accurate is this?" Together, we'll screen some of Hollywood's most popular movies that reference or are (loosely) based on Nordic history and culture, and separate the facts from the fiction.
