Scandinavian scholar, Carol Skog, will read from and sign copies of her new book, "Enchantment Ädventyr, H.C.A. and I Understand", in the Wykeham Room of the Gunn Memorial Library and Museum in Washington, Connecticut. This is a great program for all ages and we encourage you to bring your children to this holiday event. Enchantment Ädventyr is a creative variation of a Swedish Fairytale wrapped into, around, and through reality, immersed within three traditional holidays celebrated vicariously with family heritage.

“Have you ever wondered whom, were your relatives, where they lived, how they experienced their land’s special customs and traditions? Come into a magical “Enchantment Ädventyr” of a long desired journey to Sweden, fulfilled with answers to these questions at the invitations of an honored Swedish figure: Count Bonde. Serendipitously interrupted en route to the Count, a wood sprite’s spell cast sends the author invisibly into different times, places, and spaces. Whom did she meet? What customs enlivened? Magic holds the author from her important mission to meet the Count. Will she succeed to get the spell broken? Will her longing questions and conflicts of the heart find answers?”

Journey with Carol, as she shares a portion of her book, featuring unique customs of Swedish Christmas. Culminating Carol’s book presentation, a fantasy journey continues for the attendees who will view a miniature procession of “Sankta Lucia”. Carol’s five year old granddaughter Lily and five of her friends, will portray Sankta Lucia, two starboys, one small tomte, and Lucia’s 2 girl attendants in procession to the Sankta Lucia melody. After which Lucia will invite all to enjoy Swedish refreshments. Carol will be available to autograph books purchased at the event. “Don’t miss the Swedish traditional Holiday Recipes and Genealogy Resource References found within the book’s appendix. Come venture with Carol into Swedish Christmas and enjoy!
