.. a free Virtual Lecture by Wendel Swan. Join us for this free virtual lecture hosted by the American Swedish Historical Museum! Wendel Swan, who has loaned more than 50 rare and exemplary textiles for the current exhibition Swedish Folk Weavings for Marriage, Carriage, and Home 1750-1840 at ASHM, will discuss the historical background of Scandinavian weavings since the Viking era and, with numerous illustrations, the enormous diversity and aesthetic merit of design elements, color, and weaving techniques of Swedish textiles that were produced for personal household use in the relatively small Skåne region of Sweden.
The lecture is free, but registration is required here: https://www.americanswedish.org/events/free-virtual-lecture-wendel-swan-early-swedish-folk-weavings
