Lucia Day

According to legend, Lucia came to Scandinavia when Sweden was in the throes of an appalling famine. At the peak of that terrible winter came a ship shining with light, laden with food and at the helm a beautiful girl, across the waters of Lake Vännern in the province of Värmland. Food was distributed and the people of Sweden were saved from starvation.

10:00 AM: Lindsborg Swedish Dancer bake sale at Jim Turner's studio.
10:00 AM: Lindsborg Swedish Dancer performance in front of First Bank of Kansas.
10:15 AM: 4th graders and Lindsborg Swedish Dancer joint performance.
10:30 AM: Dala Camerata Trio at Turner's Studio.
10:45 AM: 4th grade St. Lucia & Star Boy carriage processional to Bethany Church.
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: SVHS Clarinet Choir, Chamber Orchestra and Brass Choir on the half hour in Turner's Studio.
11:30 AM: Soderstrom 4th grade St. Lucia program at Bethany Church.
1:45 PM: Processional from downtown Lindsborg to Bethany Church with the Lindsborg Swedish Folk Dancers (LSFD).
2:00 PM: Lindsborg Swedish Folkdancer performance in front of Bethany Church.
2:30 PM: Brass in the Bell tower at Bethany Lutheran Church.
3:00 PM: LSFD St. Lucia program at Bethany Lutheran Church.
